Meet Jessie
Jessie Embley is a life long alaskan who began
her dance training at the age of 14 at Dance Spectrum School of Dance.
Inspired by her childhood participation in the Music and Dance
Machine, a local summer theatre production, she found she enjoyed the
dancing more than the singing. She started with one jazz class and
before she knew it had signed up for ballet, tap, lyrical, and modern
as well. As a performer, she was member of Dance Spectrum Alaska and
also served as the jazz and tap choreographer for the company as well
as instructing classes in the studio for many years under the
direction of Gail Florio. Jessie was the director of The Dance Machine
for a number of years and has choreographed, performed and taught for
the Anchorage School District, the Dance Together Alaska Festival
2009, Spenard Jazz Fest 2011, and many other local organizations.
Jessie has futhered her dance training by taking master classes with
Tap Dogs, Gregory Hines, Carlos Jones, Tammy Gibson, Katherine Kramer,
and 42nd street to name a few. She has attended multiple summer
workshops in Idyllwild California and the Fairbanks Summer Arts
Festival. She presently holds an associate’s degree in applied science
in the field of culinary arts and hospitality from UAA. Jessie is one
of the founding members of Momentum Dance Collective and is the mother
of two beautiful little girls.
