Dancers for 2008-2009 Performing Season
Alaska Dance Theatre seeks dancers for 2008-2009 Season, for a minimum of 26 weeks. Submit cover letter with: resume, three current, professional letters of reference, full body photograph, and DVD/VHS 10 – 15 minutes, including barre and center, with examples of repertoire and versatility in style. Dancers interested in teaching are welcome. Season begins August 18 and continues through February with option to extend. The Company is classically trained and performs a contemporary repertory. Choreographers in residence and James Sewell Ballet work with the dancers.

Instructors for 2008-2009 School Year
The School of Alaska Dance Theatre seeks experienced instructors for the academic year, August 18 through May 31, with option to extend. The School is housed in a 5-studio facility and operates a School Division, Pre-Professional Division, and Open Division in ballet, modern dance, jazz, hip-hop and creative movement for a range of ages and abilities. To apply: Submit cover letter with resume, three current (professional) letters of reference, and a DVD/VHS of candidate instructing and interacting with students of various levels. Candidates with expertise in more than one discipline, including social dance and tap, are encouraged to apply.

Choreographers for 2008-2009 Season

Alaska Dance Theatre seeks guest choreographers to create new works for our repertoire in brief residency, either early or late summer 2008, or during the 2008-2009 season. To apply: Submit cover letter with resume, three current, professional letters of reference from companies and/or directors with whom candidate has worked, and a DVD/VHS of excerpts of choreography demonstrating range of style. The Company is classically trained and performs a contemporary repertory.

Accompanists for 2008-2009 Season
The School of Alaska Dance Theatre employs accompanists for all levels of ballet, modern and creative movement classes. The academic School year begins August 18 and continues through May 18. There is also a 8-week summer program. To apply: Submit cover letter with resume, three current, professional letters of reference, and a DVD of samples of music by artist accompanying various levels of ballet classes. Musicians who can accompany modern are welcome. Ability to assist in training and recruiting new accompanists is a plus. Full and part time positions are available.
