Dear ADT Students and Families,
As we enter into the summer session for ADT's classes, a lot has changed for Anchorage COVID-19 mandates. We would like to take this time to update our policies.
As of May 14, the municipality of Anchorage lifted its current mask mandate, leaving the responsibility with individual businesses to decide what is best for their organization. At Alaska Dance Theatre, we serve students of all ages, from the youngest dancer at age 3 up to our adult students, and ADT is committed to providing a safe environment for everyone inside the building. Due to the fact that a vaccine is currently not available for more than half of our student population, ADT will still require masks for all staff and students while inside the facility for our current Maintenance classes, upcoming Summer Dance Intensive, and all summer camps. We are continuing to monitor the case counts and vaccination rates in the city, and will be reassessing as the summer continues.
Check In Procedures
Based on current recommendations by the CDC, ADT will no longer be requiring students to sign in for classes. We ask that all students coming to class please continue to follow standard health precautions, including staying home when sick or with a fever.
Updates for Vaccinated Students and Staff
Students and Staff members who are fully vaccinated will no longer need to quarantine after exposure to individuals with COVID-19. Additionally, vaccinated students and staff will no longer need to quarantine after traveling both inside or out of Alaska.
Unvaccinated students and individuals will be required to quarantine after exposure to COVID-19 and will be asked to follow all recommendations for travel, including testing and quarantine when needed. For more information on quarantine and travel guidance, please review this link: https://covid19.alaska.gov/travelers/
Social Distancing Requirements
For ADT's classes, we will be reducing the social distancing requirements from 10 feet down to 6 feet, which will slightly increase the cap on classes. We will be updating the grids on our floors to reflect this change. We ask that students in the hallways continue to socially distance at least 6 feet apart.
Our front desk staff are available for registration, questions, and anything else to help our dancers and families. We will continue to restrict lobby access to only 1 family member at this time. The lobby is closed to class observations at this time.
We want to thank all of our families and students for the great work in keeping ADT a safe and healthy place to be during the summer.
