Update - 03/16/2020
Dear ADT Friends, Families, and Dancers,
This email is an update to ADT's school closure following mandatory ASD closure guidelines from Governor Dunleavy issued March 13. Alaska Dance Theatre is following ASD mandatory closures, and will now be closed through to Monday, March 30th. We plan to return back to classes on Tuesday, March 31st, and will keep you posted on additional changes.
We are currently exploring options to extend our season later into May to make up for these canceled weeks, and will have more information available once we return to classes. Additionally, we are still exploring options for updated Pineapple Poll performance dates and should have more answers next week. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out! Our front desk hours will be Monday through Friday 12:00-5:00 during this closure time.
In the meantime, I encourage everyone to follow ADT on Facebook for fun daily challenges, recorded classes, and awesome dance information! Let us know how you are keeping dance a part of your life and send us updates! www.facebook.com/AlaskaDanceTheatre

Dear families, friends, and staff of Alaska Dance Theatre,
As we reach the midway point of our spring break week off, we would like to update families on some changes to next week's schedule moving forward.
On Wednesday of this week, the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic, and Governor Dunleavy declared Alaska in a State of Emergency. The Anchorage School District (ASD) has chosen to extend Spring Break vacation an additional week in an effort to enact social distancing and help keep our communities safe and healthy. This closure may last beyond the additional 1 week extension.
In keeping with ADT's policy and to help ensure the safety of our families, students, and staff, we will also extend Spring Break one additional week, and continue to follow any future closures that the ASD implements. ADT is cancelling all classes Monday, March 16 through Saturday, March 21. Makeup classes will be available for all canceled classes moving forward, and will be available into ADT's summer session.
The original Pineapple Poll performance dates have been postponed. ADT is currently assessing options for rescheduling performance dates and will notify all participants as soon as new dates can be established.
ADT's office hours next week will be limited to 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. As most of our Administrative staff will be working from home, the fastest way to contact us for any support will be via email. Below are the email addresses for each of our Administrative Staff members.

Niki Maple, Artistic Director- firstname.lastname@example.org
Farah Zoetmulder, Associate Director- Fzoetmulder@alaskadancetheatre.org

We wish for you to know that the staff of ADT are staying up to date on the day to day information available on this Pandemic, and that our first concern is the health and well being of our families, students, and staff. If any additional changes are needed to the year calendar, we will notify families immediately.
Thank you to everyone for being a wonderful member of our ADT community. We appreciate all of our families patience and understanding during this time period, and look forward to seeing smiling dancers back in our building soon!
